Are you looking for an Astral pool heating cooling model AHP-060-R4 supplier in Dubai? If your pool isn’t heating to the desired temperature, there are a few possible causes. This checklist can help you identify the problem:
Do I have a suitable heat exchanger?
A common misconception is that the larger the heat exchanger, the faster it will heat the pool! However, this is not necessarily the case. Heat exchangers transfer thermal energy to the pool water. So if you have enough power, the next thing to check is whether your heat exchanger can transfer that energy. Learn more about Astral Heat Pump AHP 250-R4.
Many heat exchangers are used to heating swimming pools, and they differ significantly in design, performance, and heat transfer efficiency.
Some heat exchanger designs look extensive and impressive but have a minimal internal heat transfer surface area – which makes contact between the pool and the heated water. If the device does not have enough surface area, not all of the energy in the heat exchanger can be transferred to the pool.
Heat exchangers are usually rated in kW. This refers to the amount of thermal energy they can transfer based on a given duty cycle, and this is sometimes why devices are mis-selected.
A heat exchanger designed to transfer 50 kWh from a boiler producing hot water at a temperature of 90 °C and a flow of 60 litres per minute will not share the same energy if the temperature and flow of hot water are reduced.

Generally, the lower the temperature and flow rate (often applicable to renewable energy sources and condensing boilers), the larger the area required for heat transfer. In such situations, the design of the heat exchanger is crucial, and choosing the right one can significantly improve efficiency and heat-up times – see our article How do I heat my pool faster? For more information.
My heating system is adequate, but my pool still won’t heat up!
The hot and cold liquid flow rates are critical to the heat exchanger’s ability to transfer the thermal energy to the pool. If the flow rate of the hot water is too low, the available power will not pass through the heat exchanger. However, the flow rate of the swimming pool water is just as important.
People often think creating a significant temperature difference between the pool water entering the heat exchanger and the pool water leaving it is crucial. You will be happy if the pipeline at the exit of the heat exchanger is noticeably warmer than at the entrance.
In reality, this reduces the efficiency of the heat transfer process! This is because the pool water flow is too low – the water stays in the heat exchanger for too long, so a much smaller volume of water is heated to a slightly higher temperature. It’s like trying to heat your pool by adding a kettle of boiling water – you would never do that because the heat from the small volume of boiling water would soon be dissipated and lost in the larger volume of pool water.
However, at higher flow rates, the time it takes to circulate the pool water is reduced, and even a slight increase in the pool water temperature through the heat exchanger (e.g. 1.5°C) has a more significant impact on the pool heating efficiency.
